Boston Dynamics plans to sell its SpotMini robot to the public in 2019, TechCrunch reports today. The company said at an event TechCrunch today that the SpotMini is in pre-production and is preparing for commercial availability next year. The founder of the company, Marc Raibert, also said that SpotMini was "motivated thinking about what could go in an office, in a more accessible space for commercial applications, and then, at home." Boston Dynamics says that the contracted manufacturers will build the first 100 SpotMinis later this year for commercial use, and then the company will increase production to sell additional bots by 2019.
