We Fell In Love With This 33-Pound Cat, So We Decided To Adopt Him And Start His Weight Loss Journey

Hello, my name is Mike Wilson and together with my girlfriend Megan Hanneman we have a company that manufactures wall-mounted cat furniture, designed to promote the activity of indoor cats. We have two cats who help us test our furniture ideas and let us know their favorite pieces. A couple of months ago, we decided to bring a new kitten to our house to join the two cats we already had. One day, when we only had 45 minutes before we had to be at work, we decided to go to our local Humane Society to have a look. When we entered, we were instantly attracted by this gentle giant named Bronson. The receptionist told us that to go see him first we would have to sit down and be interviewed by a staff member. The Humane Society was backed up to the point where we could not see Bronson in person, so the first day we saw him was his ass. He made us wait for the front.

After we left, none of us could stop talking about him and how much fun it would be to take him home and help him lose the extra pounds. We returned to the Humane Society the next day, shortly after they opened, and we sat down with a staff member. She told us that the entire Humane Society knew about Bronson's past and that its last owner passed away. Since he was up to 33 pounds and was only three years old, they suspected that he was an older person who might have been feeding him with leftovers or something like that. We went to meet him and instantly fell in love. I remember that my cheeks ached from having smiled for so long.

Bronson was very affectionate and sweet, and he was happy kneading his cat's bed when we caressed him for the first time. Suddenly, we realized that it was a poly-shaped cat with extra fingers and had very pronounced thumbs! Even more adorably, their legs looked strangely like our home state of Michigan. He was the sweetest cat we had ever met and he seemed so happy to be home and have a great space of his own.

After bringing Bronson home, we scheduled his first visit to the vet. While we were there, we discovered that Bronson is also the man of the ladies. All the veterinary doctors and technicians took turns to enter the room and admire its robust body, its pretty face and its mittens.

It is very important that heavy cats lose weight slowly, or else they can get fatty liver disease, which can be a fatal disease. We have adjusted the Bronson diet three times since we have it, but we believe that You are on track to lose this weight safely. Currently he has 375 calories per day. Half of them are from the croquette in which the Humane Society had it and the other half are from the wet food without grains that we are weaned. We have also changed your exercise routine several times. At first, he played with toys with him lying down for about 20 minutes a day and also took him downstairs so that he had to climb back up to get to his favorite place to nap.

After a few times of seeing him hurried up the stairs, we began to worry about damaging his joints or it hurt him while making the return trip and we decided to wait until he was a little more fit. Currently, his exercise routine is to move his plate of food around the room to promote walking, I feel we have lost points with him in that, and I am still playing with toys while he is lying down. His favorite toy is a tomato filled with catnip, which likes to attack, bite and kick with its hind legs.

We have started an Instagram account so that people can follow their weight loss journey. It has been a little over two months and already has more than 13,000 followers and a very nice community that encourages him on his way. Many of his followers have been willing to share their advice on feline weight loss and it is also a place where we can share their ideas. Carrying Bronson became a problem from the beginning. It is so big and has a lot of weight in the chest, so there is no good way to lift it without feeling that we are hurting or crushing it. To combat this problem, we invented the "transport pillow", which is … just a pillow. As simple as an idea, carrying it with your pillow has been an excellent way to take it to the living room without feeling incredibly uncomfortable.

There are many excellent qualities about Bronson that seem incredibly adorable to us. One of the nicest things is that he almost always sleeps with a pillow. He is also not shy about taking up too much space in bed. We have divided the bed into three parts and Megan and I have taken turns finishing at the end of the bed.

Our goal is for Bronson to lose one pound per month and currently lose 1.6 pounds, so that's fine. on your way to a healthy life. He is not ready to join the other cats to try the furniture on the wall, but they know he will arrive on time.
