“The Simpsons” Next Year’s ‘Treehouse of Horror’ Will be Episode No. 666

Get ready to be scared!

Simpson executives have made a chilling decision. The "Treehouse of Horror XXX" next year will be episode 666 of the animated series.

The annual special episode of Halloween will be, by chance, the episode 666 that the series has issued during its three decades. It's the highest-rated script entertainment series in history, and although it has not yet been renewed for its 31st season, we know that The Simpsons will outlive us all!

Executive Producer Al Jean tells Entertainment Weekly that "Treehouse of Horror XXIX" on Sunday will pull jokes from Jurassic Park Invasion of the Body Snatchers and The Three Faces of Eve. And at the opening of the episode, "Cthulhu, the ancient creature of the sea, gets involved in a food contest with Homer," said Jean EW . "I let you guess who could win," he added.

All signs point to a renewal, of course. "I'd like to do more seasons, just to make sure that does not cause the end of The World," joked Jean.
