Synfig Studio is a free open source 2D vector and timeline-based animation software, designed to produce full-length movie-quality animations.
There is no need for tweening, so there is no need to draw each frame manually. Synfig Studio offers spatial and temporal resolution independence (clear and smooth at all resolutions or frame rates), high dynamic range images, and a flexible plug-in system.
Synfig Studio Review 2020
With Synfig Studio software you can create feature film quality animations, web animations, advertisements, and more. Supports many layers (filters, gradients, distortions, transformations, fractals, etc.), spatial resolution-independence, temporal resolution independence, HDRI (High Dynamic-Range Imaging), Penta-blite friendly tools, artist-centered design, bone tools such as path-based gradients or New features like frame-by-frame are always added.
Frame animations that extend the functionality of this program. Synfig Studio is currently available as a stable release of Microsoft Windows (XP/Vista/7), Linux RPM-based distributions (Fedora, Mandriva, RedHat, etc.), Linux DEB-based distributions (Ubuntu, Debian, etc.).
You can choose to compile and run Synfig Studio using Mac OS X (an Apple’s X11 environment-requires XQuartz) or other Linux distributions or source code.
Important: Be aware of changes in the Linux version. It no longer provides RPM/DEB/TGZ and is replaced by the AppImage file format.

How can you use Synfig Studio
The best example of what you can achieve with these software suites is the Morevna Project used by Synfig Studio for 2D animation (vectorization and tweening). Looking for more examples? Check out the “Examples” section, which includes animation sources or galleries. You can also check out the “Scripts and Tools” section, which includes an interesting collection of tools or official channels.
How programs work
If you are not an expert in this area, the best way is to start with the “Synfig wiki”, which includes user manuals (manuals, tutorials, references, and glossaries), developer documentation, and writer documentation. Perhaps the “User’s Manual” is the most accessible section covering almost everything you want to know about this software, so read the “Manual” and “Tutorial” sections.
