Rumors hint future iPhone X could have three cameras on the back

Many random sources seem to think that a new version of the iPhone X will have three rear cameras, this year or next. So here we are: I am telling you about these rumors, although I am not convinced that this is going to happen.

The most recent report comes from The Korea Herald which states that both the Samsung Galaxy S10 and the new iPhone X Plus will have three camera lenses. It is not clear what exactly the third sensor for Apple would do. Huawei incorporated three cameras in its P20 Pro: a 40-megapixel main camera, a 20-megapixel monochrome camera and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera. Most points of sale seem to think that Apple's third objective would be used for an improved zoom.

The first rumors came from the Taiwanese publication Economic Daily News and investor notes were noted by CNET . Both reports indicated a release date of 2019 for the phone. All these rumors seem underdeveloped at this time and, of course, even if Apple is testing a three-camera configuration, the team could always change their mind and continue with the dual cameras. Still, if Apple wants to make an obvious hardware change to the cameras of their phones, a third lens would be a way to do it.
