Robin Wright Assumes Presidency in First Look at "House of Cards" Final Season

It's official!

Claire Underwood will return to our screen as president of the United States before the end of 2018.

Netflix has finally released Robin Wright's first-sight images as Clare Underwood on the oval of the sixth season of House of Cards.

The last season of the political drama will follow Claire, who assumed the presidency after her husband, Frank (Kevin Spacey), resigned. Spacey, who played the murderous politician in the five seasons, was fired from the series after allegations of sexual assault against him appeared.

The final season of the series brings new cast members such as Diane Lane, Greg Kinnear and Cody Fern, who join Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Patricia Clarkson, Constance Zimmer, Derek Cecil, Scott Campbell and Boris McGiver.

The preview shows the new POTUS in the Oval Office, but that's it, since the transmission giant has kept all the details of the plot completely secret.

Wright has earned five Emmy nominations for his portrayal of Clare Underwood.

Production began earlier this year, and the abbreviated season six will be aired on Netflix later this year.
