Peloton to launch its smart exercise bike in the UK and Canada

The connected exercise equipment company Peloton is expanding sales of its stationary bicycle to the United Kingdom and Canada, as previously reported in Engadget . Peloton bikes, which cost $ 1,995 along with a subscription of $ 39 per month to Peloton's live and on-demand classes, have a tablet attached to the front along with a camera and a built-in microphone.

Classes are transmitted through the touch screen, and if you can not do the live sessions, you can see more than 5,000 classes on demand. The screen also shows your result, and, if you are in a live class, your rank compared to all others currently participating. This year at CES, Peloton debuted with its $ 4,000 treadmill, which offers more than 7,000 on-demand and cross-training classes.

The company says it will open retail outlets in London and Toronto this fall, and plans to expand to other European markets in 2019. It will also open a studio in London next year, which should add more live content for those in different time zones . Peloton will sell its static bicycle for £ 1,995 in the United Kingdom and $ 2,595 CAD in Canada, but has not announced how much the monthly subscription will be in each country.
