Get to work with the Moto G6 Plus
Motorola launched a trio of new budget smartphones, and the father of the family is the Moto G6 Plus.
As I would suggest the moniker plus, this is a great phone, but the 5.9-inch screen is not the only thing that distinguishes it from its brothers. The Moto G6 Plus also comes with a much improved camera and a great update under the hood.
You are packaging a Snapdragon 630 processor, which offers much more noise for all kinds of tasks, from games to productivity. The 630 also comes with an advanced image signal processor, and that should mean a better smartphone photo, one of the key areas where cheap phones often drop the ball.

Although they may belong to the same family, the G6 Plus is far ahead of the G6 Play. This is really a phone beast for the price, and it comes with the features you would expect in a phone that costs twice as much.
Of course, you can not have everything. However, if you do not care about full water resistance or wireless charging, this is a real bargain.
Moto G6 Plus – Design and display
Motorola has really intensified the appearance of the Moto G Range The G6 and G6 Plus come with much thinner bezels that give you a much larger screen for your size. The metal frame is sandwiched between the screen and a scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 3D glass. This narrows to the front of the phone, which makes it very comfortable to hold.
The 5.9-inch size of the bright and powerful Full HD + display means that the G6 Plus is a bit taller and wider than the G6, but still easy to use with one hand and eminently pocket. The 18: 9 screen ratio makes it narrower than the Moto G5, but with a significantly larger screen. It is also a complete diluent of 1.5 mm more than last year's model.
Both the G6 Plus and the G6 have a sense of luxury that I did not expect from phones at this price. Keep in mind that the entry-level G6 Play comes with a polymer back that does not feel as good.
The design blooms does not end there. The rear cameras are highlighted with remarkable detail. The dual lenses are located centrally behind a large circle of glass with an engraved outline. The Moto G6 and G6 Plus look absolutely fantastic. It's hard to believe that you can get quality like this for so little money.
Instead of having the fingerprint sensor on the back, as in the G6 Play, Motorola has chosen to place a narrow sensor just below the screen. If there is something that would change about the design, it is that it is a bit difficult to reach with the thumb.
On the positive side, the G6 and G6 Plus come with facial recognition. This is a feature that Apple introduced with the iPhone X of £ 1000, and now you can get it on two phones that cost a fraction of the price. We still have to wait for a full review to see if it works as well as on the iPhone.
The Moto G6 Plus will be available in "Deep Indigo" at launch, but Motorola did say it would be a second color option on the road.
Moto G6 Plus – Camera
The Moto G6 Plus comes with two rear cameras: one with 12 megapixels and the other with 5 megapixels. This is something we see in most flagship phones, but not often in those that cost less than £ 300.
There are several different ways to use a second sensor in phones, but Motorola has chosen to emulate the iPhone X. and iPhone 8. That means that the G6 Plus can create shallow depth effects both while firing and later in post-production using the Portrait application.
This worked well in my initial attempts. The object was sharp and focused, while the background was soft and fuzzy.
The main camera comes with a wide aperture of f / 1.7, which should let in more light and provide better pictures when it is dark. I could not verify this at the testing site, but the images looked detailed and focused on the first inspection.
Unlike the cheaper phones in the range, the G6 Plus also comes with dual auto focus. Pixel technology, which should again help to shoot better in low light.
Apart from the dual lens, it looks a lot like the Moto G5 Plus camera from last year. That's not bad: we were impressed with that camera, although we found it fussy when we focused on darker environments. Optical image stabilization could help if this is still a problem, but at this price it would have been a big question.
However, we have some other ingenious features. Point to the G6 Plus in a famous place and information will appear on it. It can also recognize objects. I tried it with a small plant and the Moto G6 correctly identified it as a succulent and brought information to the screen.
The Moto G6 Plus can also take 4K video, one step ahead of the Moto G6's 1080p limit. It also comes with beautification modes, group selfie and face filter, while a comprehensive manual mode allows you to retouch to get the best results.
Moto G6 Plus – Specifications
Although the Moto G6 Plus has a very high price in the market. medium range of smart phones, Motorola has not spared in features and performance.
Where the Moto G6 Play uses the Snapdragon 430 from last year and the G6 Snapdragon 450 this year, the Moto G6 Plus uses the Snapdragon 630 and the much more powerful pairs. with 4 GB of RAM (up to 6 GB in certain regions).
Stock Android 8.0 on the G6 Plus is a smooth experience like butter. Applications open instantly and the camera is fast and responsive to commands, just as it should be.
The Snapdragon 630 also comes with enhanced image signal processors for better smartphone photography and is compatible with Bluetooth 5.0. This new Bluetooth standard is faster, goes further, uses less energy and is safer. Most people will not notice the difference, but it is another thing that the G6 Plus has on its siblings, which are only compatible with Bluetooth 4.2.
The Moto G6 Plus also includes double the storage of the G6 and G6 games. You get 64 GB of series, with a model of 128 GB also in view in some regions, plus the option to expand it even more through the microSD card.

There are NFC for fast pairing, as well as Android Pay. A type C USB connector is used for charging and data transfer.
Motorola packs a quick charger in the box with the G6 Plus, which, he says, provides 6 hours of use for a 15-minute explosion. That's useful, but I'm also pleased that the G6 Plus comes with a 3200 mAh battery, which is larger than last year's model. We loved the resistance of that phone, so I hope the G6 Plus can at least match it.
One last thing to keep in mind is that, although the G6 Plus is not officially water resistant, it has been treated with a hydrophobic nano-coating system. That does not mean I can dive with him, but I could save him from an accidental spill.

First impressions
The Moto G6 Plus seems to be a formidable smartphone for the price. It looks and feels like a phone that costs a lot more, and it comes with an impressive list of specifications. We will have to test the camera a lot more before issuing a trial, but the G6 Plus sits on top of what looks like an impressive triple entry to the Moto G range.
