Google+ may have been left out of the limelight, but we've seen one update after another in recent months that point to what could be a really significant revision to the social network . There have been signs of new formatting capabilities, a title design and even bookmark publications to revisit later. The latest update talks about another new feature that can allow a new type of customizable transmission.
The features described below are probably not yet live, or can only be live for a small percentage of users. Unless stated otherwise, do not expect to see these features if you install the apk. All screenshots and images are true unless otherwise indicated, and the images are only modified to delete personal information.
Custom flows and unread counts
The first part of this teardown does not really seem like anything important to me, but it leads to the part that makes it more interesting, at least if it extrapolates a bit. So, to begin with, there are new chains named with "custom sequence" as a prefix. It seems that there will be a "Beginning of sequences" page to access and manage the personalized sequences, and each one can be given a title and a description.
< string name = " streams_home_fragment_label " > Strings Home </ string >
< string name = " custom_stream_description_page_title " > Sequence information </ string >
 < string name = " custom_stream_description_title_text " > Title </ string >
< string name = " custom_stream_description_description_text " > Description </ string >
Right now, Google+ veterans are probably wondering how this is different from Circle Streams, which are basically just feeds containing only people's posts in a circle. Besides establishing a description, of course, I'm afraid I could not tell you. Surely there will be more details to come.
I am only speculating here, but I would like to imagine that it will be possible to define criteria such as word lists, personalized searches and other methods to automatically filter the content of people. are you still. Perhaps it would allow users to create custom flows that contain both collections and accounts, which is currently not allowed with Circle Streams.
Although I can not tell you how the personalized transmissions will work, I can say that they will have a new and a very interesting feature: unread counts.
< string name = " streams_navigation_item_unread " > New unread posts </ string >
< string name = " unread_count_has_more_unread_posts_content_description " > More than% 1 $ s unread messages </ string > < plurals name = " unread_count_has_unread_posts_content_description " >
< item > % 1 $ s unread messages </ item >
< item > % 1 $ s unread publication </ item >
</ plurale s >
Well, that probably does not sound interesting either, but stay with me on this. Google+ has been algorithmic from the first day, which means that the publications were not ordered in a simple chronological order, but based the order on criteria such as the total participation of a publication and its typical level of interest in a person's publications determined. (Note: there are exceptions, some views are ordered chronologically). As a result, it was actually possible that publications of a few minutes before landed several pages down, and could easily be lost or never be shown.
Unread account, Google+ will show firm numbers for publications that entered since the last time you verified a particular transmission and, logically, all those new publications should be stacked at the top for easy viewing. This will make it easier to keep up with the material that you do not want to miss.
With so many changes aligned for Google+, I'm starting to doubt that they'll come out in a tiered release. We could be looking for an appropriate advertisement with all the new toys.
