Mac users typically encounter four potential errors while running an App (DMG file) on Mac OS X:

Case 1: Common error:

  • and more … (19659006) Case 2: Common error:

    • "The App" is corrupt and can not be opened. The disk image must be ejected.
    • And more … (You may be faced with differences.)

If you get an error, take the following solution in CASE 1 and CASE 2:

    How to fix Case 1

When the application fails to run, the error "Application can not be opened" appears.

To work around this problem, run the following command line through the chmod terminal (found in / Applications / Utilities /) to make it executable:

    chmod + x TheAppName.app/Contents/MacOS/*

TheAppName is the application name. To avoid complications, you should change the name of the original application name without "space" and no special characters. For example, the following error occurred: The "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" application can not be opened like the screenshot above . How did you fix it? I first changed the name from "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" to "Call of Duty-4-Modern-Warfare"

    chmod + x / Applications /Call-of-Duty-4-Modern-Warfare.app/Contents/MacOS/*
    chmod+x SomeApp.app/Contents/MacOS/ *

    How to troubleshoot Issue 2

This problem occurs when you try to open a DMG file. It will not download from the App Store.

Please use the following solution. Solution 1: Mac OS no longer works in Sierra or High Sierra Workaround 2
