The turn-based strategy RPG Chaos Reborn started as a Kickstarter project in 2014. The original creator of X-COM Julian Gollop and his newly formed (at that time) studio Snapshot Games led the campaign . It was finally successfully funded, and then the game was released on Steam in 2015. Well, if you're a big fan of SRPG, you'll be glad to hear that Chaos Reborn has hit Android. It is one of the best SRPGs released in the operating system in recent years, and it is better that you believe it offers a solid challenge and a deeply rewarding game.
Okay, the first thing I would like to mention is that Chaos Reborn: Adventures may not be for everyone. There is no hand here. You must work for each and every one of your achievements. The deaths of a single shot are not unknown, and learning the ropes will not be easy. It takes a lot of trial and error to discover most of the mechanics. Fortunately, there is a single player mode where you can take your time to resolve things.
Of course, the flesh of the gameplay is developed in competitive multiplayer mode. It lends itself well to short games thanks to the mix of the traditional game of turn-based strategy with some of the elements of poker. The only drawback is that the battles take place in real time. So get ready to play a full online game before starting one. No asynchronous multiplayer game found here.
One thing that can leave people scratching their heads is that it's an expensive game. There are no purchases integrated into the application, this is a premium version after all, but it will cost you $ 10.99 to jump. The strange thing about this is that Steam has the game currently listed at $ 9.99. That's right, the mobile version is strangely more expensive than the PC version. Sure, there are features in this release that will not be found on the PC, but there are also features on the PC that did not reach this Android release. Now, I totally agree with the prices that reflect a superior experience, but I'm not sure that people are willing to pay more for the privilege to play on a platform that undoubtedly has worse controls. That does not mean that the touch controls in this port are bad, since it is a game that lends itself well to them, I just can not say that they accumulate in a physical controller.
There is no doubt that Chaos Reborn: Adventures offers a solid single-player game and a fun multiplayer online experience for all fans of SRPG on Android, but the cost is a bit high compared to its PC counterpart. I would hate to discourage people from jumping into such a good game, but I wonder if the price will eventually fall on this when it does not reach the sales numbers it should. Maybe it's better to wait a bit to see if this situation improves, but at least you know what you'll get if you decide to lower today $ 10.99.
