The summer was full of incredible musical collaborations, and Calvin Harris and Sam Smith gave us another one. The two artists simply released a visual for their rhythmic ballad Promises .
The new Glitzy video serves as an ode to queer nightlife in New York and shows the culture of the ballroom and the house in all its intensity. It does not have an elaborate plot, but it is still a joy to see the incredible shots of the ballroom parties and hear testimonies from dancers that are part of this scene.
Some of the artists who accepted Smith's invitation previously worked alongside the likes of Prince, Madonna and Rihanna! The video also features supermodel Winnie Harlow, who was more than happy to appear among the bright lights and disco in this vibrant video.
Promises visual was directed by Emil Nava, who has been working with Calvin Harris for years. He was also responsible for producing videos for his latest singles Nuh Ready Nuh Ready and One Kiss . The three songs will be featured on Harris' next studio album.
