Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will feature a Fortnite-style battle royale mode

After announcing the game in March, Activision today has finally taken a look at the next Call of Duty . Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (unfortunately designed as IIII ) will abandon the traditional single player campaign of the series, and instead focus on the multiplayer mode (there will still be narrative elements, but they will be interlaced in multiplayer modes).

That multiplayer approach will include the now standard "zombie" mode, as well as a new addition: "blackout", a Black Ops takeover PUBL and Fortnite battle royale style. The mode will extract characters and locations from previous games in the subseries, taking place in what Activision describes as the largest map that appeared in a game Call of Duty and will include land, air and sea vehicles. To compensate for the absence of a traditional campaign, Black Ops 4 will present three different experiences of "zombies" when it launches. That includes a new story separate from the previous games, and what appear to be elements taken from Gladiator and Titanic … for some reason. Here is a look at two of the zombie experience:

In another series first, the PC version of Black Ops 4 will follow in the footsteps of Destiny 2 and will use Blizzard & # 39 ; s Battle. Net infrastructure online. (Blizzard is also owned by Activision)

The game is being developed by Treyarch, which launched Black Ops 3 in 2015, and follows last year's backlash Call of Duty: WWII ] Call of Duty is not the only renowned game that was unveiled in the weeks leading up to E3, which begins next month in Los Angeles. Earlier this week, Bethesda officially announced Rage 2 and on May 23, EA will take the first look at Battlefield V with an event organized by The Daily Show & # 39; s Trevor Noah. Square Enix, meanwhile, has been constantly pouring details on the upcoming Tomb Raider to be launched in September.

Black Ops 4 will be released on the PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 12.
