Best Alternatives To HostGator Hosting: 2019 Updates [With Insider Tips]

Is your website inactive on Hostgator? Or are you tired of waiting for endless time in support chat?

I recently informed you here in this blog that Hostgator has been sold to EIG and over time we heard a mixed reaction for the same. This is a good time to offer some alternatives to Hostgator as it would be beneficial for existing Hostgator users like me, whose hosting expiration date is this month; and we can move on to another web hosting service instead of renewing with Hostgator for next year.

Let’s see some web hosting alternatives that offer a hosting service of similar or better quality than Hostgator

When I searched Google for Hostgator alternatives, I was bombarded with many options, and I will list for you main hosting services that I have personally used or used for my clients’ sites. Based on my experience and recommendations for users, here are some of the best web hosting services, if you are looking to move from Hostgator.

HostGator alternatives, including non-EIG hosting:

Before continuing with the list, here is a guide to moving a WordPress site on cPanel hosting, which will help you switch to any new Hostgator host alternative I can choose.

These are some of the features that I consider when looking at any shared hosting service similar to Hostgator:

InmotionHosting was started in 2001 by a team of technicians and over the last 15 years, it has become one of the hosting options most popular for the USA UU They are based on Los Angeles and offer several types of hosting including shared, VPS and dedicated. What I like most about them is the support of superior quality in the native language.

They also offer free migration of websites without downtime and renew your domain for free. If you do not want to renew your existing domain, you can always get a free domain with your hosting purchase. I would suggest that they receive hosting for 2-3 years to get the most out of it.

 Siteground Hostgator Alternative

Siteground is a company that does not belong to EIG and have made numerous changes over time in the quality and infrastructure of your accommodation. In fact, Siteground is one of the leading hosting companies recommended for anyone looking for a WordPress hosting service other than EIG . They offer a free domain for life, as well as cutting-edge technology such as Varnish cache that will improve your WordPress performance in 4X.

Siteground has been creating a great name for themselves in 2017, and I am using them to host four of my WordPress blogs. Here is a guide to installing WordPress on Siteground. You can read my experience of transferring from HostGator to SiteGround here.

Siteground offers free website migration, which will make it even easier to get away from Hostgator. You can use the following link to register in Siteground with a 60% discount.

When it comes to shared hosting, Bluehost is a well-reputed name. They offer only a shared hosting package, and are known for their reliable hosting. Bluehost offers unlimited bandwidth and storage and offers hosting in cPanel. Many of the sites of my WordPress clients are hosted there, and I have never faced any technical problems. Only in the case of something important would I have reasons to use its support, but on the occasion when I requested support to make some changes in php.ini, it was completed successfully in a very short time.

Bluehost offers SSL for free. Certificate and support for PHP7. This is one thing that I missed so much when I was hosted on HostGator.

 Hostgator's best alternative

One of my clients had a traffic of almost 20 K / day, and The Bluehost server was handling WordPress loading without problem. However, be sure to install any cache plugin in your blog for smooth functionality of your site. Bluehost is among the best alternatives to Hostgator.

One of the best things about Bluehost is its resource protection. On most shared servers, your site will be disabled due to any faulty site that consumes high CPU resources. Bluehost has implemented its own technology to handle this problem. So technically you will get the benefits of VPS at no additional cost.

I have already shared some articles related to Bluehost, to which you can consult:

I am not on the list a large number of HostGator alternatives because my goal here was Offer a short list of the best options available to you. To be clear, I have only hosted WordPress sites with the hosting services mentioned above, and my recommendation is based on my experience with them.

I intended to include HostMonster in this list, but I decided not to do so because HostMonster is a sister company of interest to Bluehost and uses the same infrastructure. So, you can choose any of them, but my first recommendation would be SiteGround or InMotionHosting.
