Netgear's Arlo security light has a release date, after being announced late last year along with other products in the company's Arlo home surveillance line.
Preserves IP-65 weather resistance and the rechargeable battery seen in all other Arlo products, but also features motion detection, the ability to change the sensitivity of detections, color temperature and even the red flash, as a warning to intruders. The maximum brightness of the Arlo light is 400 blinding lumens, but it saves energy with the battery saving function to switch between day / night cycles. The light is also compatible with the $ 79 Arlo solar panel, in case you do not want to worry about charging it.
For those of you looking for almost effortless control over Arlo's light, Netgear includes IFTTT and Alexa support. The Arlo light also works with the existing Arlo home application, where you can program your on / off cycles (such as when you return from work, for example).
Netgear will start selling Arlo on May 25 for $ 149 each, $ 249 for a pair or three units for $ 349 through its Amazon store.
