Led by the Moto G6, Motorola, which belongs to Lenovo, has had many phones to boast this week, and more details are emerging about what we can expect from these devices later: specifically, the software updates that Motorola is planning.
As discovered by Ars Technica, the high-end Moto G6 phones – the Moto G6, Moto G6 Play and Moto G6 Plus – are online for an update of Android P, every time the new mobile operating system makes an appearance. The Moto E5 and the Moto E5 Plus, however, are apparently going to have to do with Android 8.0 Oreo.
To be more specific, Motorola promises security and software updates for phones every 60-90 days, so adjust your expectations accordingly. Of course, Motorola's plans could change along the way, but that seems to be the strategy at the moment.
Can I have a P please?
We already know that Moto G6 terminals combine some respectable performance specifications with attractive pricing design, but knowing that software updates may not be as timely is another factor to consider before getting rid of your cash.
Google has released all its key applications of Android in recent years, so they are updated separately, but we know that Android P will have some visual adjustments of modern appearance, the most important support for screen designs with Notches and better double lens camera integrations. Oh, and it will also remember your Bluetooth volumes.
Android P should be deployed on Google Pixel phones sometime this summer, but it's not clear how long Moto G6 owners will wait until it lands on their devices. If Motorola clarifies the situation, we will let you know.
