Microsoft planned to release its latest major update, codenamed Redstone 4, to users in April, but the company has delayed updating.
Previously there had been reports suggesting that the delay had occurred, but now we know by Of course. And the reason, at least partially, is too familiar.
The head of Windows Insider, Dona Sarkar, noted in the Windows Insider blog that "[i] n certain cases, this reliability issues could have led to a higher percentage of (BSOD) in computers, for example. " He did not point out exactly what caused this error.
Instead of launching Redstone 4 as it is, the company will release a completely new compilation for Insiders with the built-in fixes instead of issuing corrections through Windows Update.
In addition, Microsoft has not yet officially named Redstone 4. We've seen the Spring Creators Update float, while some Microsoft observers have found references to an April 2018 update. If it's the last one, it's possible that Microsoft has to update its brand if it does not receive this update shortly.
Redstone 4, whatever its name, will bring new features such as Timeline, Sets (a temporary name for applications with tabs) and even more of the Fluent Design language for Windows 10.
