Katherine Langford has finished playing Hannah Baker, but that does not mean her professional relationship with Netflix is over. The rising star has just landed the lead role in his next series Cursed based on the book of the same name by Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler.
Langford rose to fame thanks to the role in the teen drama 13 Reasons why, one of the most commented programs of Netflix to date. She decided to leave the series after two seasons because she felt that was enough to fully tell Hannah's story. Katherine Langford is now ready for new adventures, and Cursed certainly seems one.
The official synopsis of Netflix describes Cursed as a re-imagining of the Arthurian legend, told through the eyes of Nimue, a teenage heroine with a mysterious gift that is destined to become the powerful and tragic Lady of the Lake.
Netflix also called it "an initiation story whose themes are familiar to our time: the destruction of the natural world, religious terror, meaningless war and the courage to lead in the face of the impossible."
Miller and Wheeler, who wrote the book, also created this series and will serve as executive producers. Zetna Fuentes will also executive produce and direct the first two episodes of the 10-episode series. His credits include dozens of successful programs, such as How to Get Away with Murder Jane the Virgin and Jessica Jones .
