Fujifilm has expanded its range of medium format GFX lenses with the announcement of GF 250 mm f / 4 R LM OIS WR.
When mounted on the Fujifilm GFX 50S, this telephoto lens has a focal length of 35mm equivalent to around 200mm, which when associated with the new 1.4x teleconverter that was also announced, offers a focal length equivalent to 35 mm of 277 mm.
The lens is composed of 16 elements in 10 groups, which sees the target focused down to 1.4m and provides a maximum magnification ratio of 0.22x. Fujifilm promises that it will offer unsurpassed color reproduction, "three-dimensional" image quality, as well as ultra-high resolution and intense bokeh.
As you would expect from a pro-spec lens, the new GF 250mm f / 4 R LM OIS WR has a lens cylinder made of magnesium alloy, while the lens is sealed in 18 places to resist dust and the weather.
To reduce the risk of camera shake when shooting at extended focal lengths, the new GF 250mm f / 4 R LM OIS WR has a 5-stop image stabilization system, while there is a linear motor to control the autofocus system.
The lens will be available at the end of April, priced at £ 2,899 / $ 3,299.95, while the 1.4x teleconverter (GF1.4X TC WR) will return £ 749 / $ 849.95. Australian prices have not yet been confirmed.
