Microsoft's live streaming platform, Mixer, is getting a big ol & apos; update today with a lot of new user-centric functions, and a number that will also come to the line.
It was launched as & apos; Beam & apos; In 2014, the live streaming platform was quickly adjusted and renamed by Microsoft to launch its own competitor to Twitch.
The mixer has now entered what it calls & apos; Season 2 & apos; of its continuous development, to try to offer a meaningful alternative to the much larger platform of Twitch, with a greater focus on the participation of the viewer and on the ways in which users can interact during transmissions, either by moving around objects in the game or making decisions about what streamer will do.
Season 2 changes include animating threads of comments during live broadcasts, with the so-called & apos; Skills & apos; – allowing a greater variety of animations, GIFs and images than just scrolling text lines. Bones of confetti, amazed robots and beach balls jumping across the screen (and not just your screen).

the Sparks coin on the Mixer site & apos; which is obtained by observing or interacting with streamers and apos; transmissions – can be used to buy these Skills. The streamers on the site will also be rewarded directly if they reach specific milestones of audience numbers or participation, encouraging viewers to spend on Skills when they watch their favorite streamers.
Other inbound features include a new improved currency (Mixer Embers) for buying higher impact engagement forms, as well as a Clap button to encourage other viewers and apos; comments and contributions.
The mixer has a way to really face Twitch, but Season 2 certainly seems to be an improved experience for those who want to go with the growing Microsoft platform.
