Preparing to go out to the dusty plains of Red Dead Redemption 2? You can get ahead of the pack starting today, as Rockstar has opened preload downloads for the western adventure game.
And, if you're buying the game as a pre-ordered digital download, you should take advantage, especially if your internet connection speed is slow. It is a huge installation.
If you bought the Xbox One version of the game, you are watching a 107GB installation, while downloading with 99GB on PS4 (in addition to needing 50GB of additional space for the installation process itself). As far as we know, that makes it the biggest PS4 game of all time.
Those installation sizes remain the same if you have the disk versions, although you do not benefit from a few days of installation time. However, picking up a physical copy on PS4 also means that you do not need to release that additional 50 GB of space, since disk installation does not require it.
