Christian Bale underwent several crazy body transformations over the course of the past decades, but took things to a whole new level in Vice . The trailer for his latest project has just fallen, and the Oscar-winning actor seems completely unrecognizable as former Vice President Dick Cheney.
Vice is committed to telling the untold story behind the most powerful vice president in US history, and how His policies changed the world as we know it.
Christian Bale won 40 pounds to play Cheney and claimed that he ate many pies to achieve this goal. He also worked hard to nail his gestures and accent. Bale researched a lot to learn more about his policies so he could easily improvise at any time. This is not the first time Bale takes his body to the limit and is completely immersed in the character. That's why Adam McKay knew that he was the right person for the job even before he hired him.
"What Christian Bale really does is that he psychologically separates and reassembles someone, I've never seen someone work so hard, it's hard for him, but really amazing to see," said McKay, who previously directed Bale in The Big Short .
Vice also stars Sam Rockwell as George W. Bush, Amy Adams as Lynne Cheney and Steve as Donald Rumsfeld. It is scheduled to be released on December 25, at the peak of the awards season.
