The new Netflix show Maniac gave us a lot to think about, but their next season is not one of those things. The amazing sci-fi comedy starring Jonah Hill and Emma Stone will probably end her career with the first season.
Netflix only started broadcasting Maniac on September 21, but the series has already won a loyal army of fans who would like to see more.
The series tells the story of two strange fighters who meet during a confusing pharmaceutical trial.
Emmy winner Cary Joji Fukunaga directed the ten episodes of this limited series, but is not interested in returning. Fukunaga is quite busy these days, especially after being chosen to direct the next James Bond movie, but he would not mind seeing another season of Maniac in case producer Patrick Somerville decides to do so. [19659003] Somerville, however, does not seem very interested in that idea. Ten episodes were all it took to tell this complex story since he always imagined it as a miniseries.
"This was always planned as a limited series, and I think that's another reason why we were free to have a hopeful ending. Many times on TV, you have to throw your characters to the anguish near the end to buy next season, and we do not have to do that, "Somerville explained.
