It's been five long years since Nintendo last released a game in the Luigi & # 39; s Mansion series, and with fans starting to lose hope for another, the news that a sequel will hit Nintendo Switch in 2019 is great news. Announced with a preview during a Nintendo Direct on September 13, tentatively called Luigi & # 39; s Mansion 3, will be released on Switch sometime in 2019 – so far no official release date has been released, but with a new version of the original Luigi & # 39; s Mansion will come to 3DS on October 12.
No more details have been published about the new and shocking installation of Luigi's flagship franchise so far. However, the trailer shows Luigi crawling through a haunted mansion with ghosts coming out from behind the cleaning supplies as he confronts them with his faithful Poltergust 5000 (which is essentially a glorified vacuum cleaner).
With the first two games focused on Luigi's efforts to save his brother Mario from the haunted mansion, we imagine that Mario got into trouble again, although details about the premise of the third installation have not yet been announced .
The last transmission of Nintendo Direct transmitted the apparent death of Luigi, with his soul apparently leaving his body, so it has not yet been seen if the new game will address this.
The fans of the second game, Luigi & # 39; s Mansion: Dark Moon, will be happy to know that the naughty Polterpup makes a return, most likely to wreak havoc on the plumber who destroys the ghosts.
