LG has been manufacturing a line of mid-range Android phones for some time, but is now being updated with today's announcement of the Q7 series.
There are some additions to Q7 phones that are not only remarkable but unusual in anything that is not a flagship phone, such as its 5.5-inch FHD + screen and full screen with an aspect ratio of 18: 9 ( 2160 x 1080 / 442ppi).
The Q7 family consists of Q7a, Q7 and Q7 +, with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of standard storage in the first two. The latter is upgraded to 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.
Chipsets range from an octa-core of 1.5 GHz in the first two models to an octa-core of 1.8GHz in the Q7 +. Both the standard Q7 and the Q7a have 13-megapixel rear cameras, and the Q7 + has a 16MP sensor. For selfies, the standard Q7 + and Q7 have 8 megapixel cameras, while Q7a users will have to settle for a 5 megapixel sensor.
Of course, in 2018, a decent phone, like most Q7s, will come with a portrait mode, QLens (LG camera enhancements), high-quality audio, DTS support: X 3D Surround Sound through 3.5mm jack audio, microSD card compatibility, water and dust resistance, Android 8.0 Oreo, LTE radios and a fingerprint sensor on the back. These are all standard specifications, with some bells and whistles (like audio enhancements) to make the Q7 series more attractive.
The availability of the LG Q series (Q7, Q7 + and Q7a) will depend on the region and the market. LG says that the price details will be announced locally closer to the launch.
