President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama will begin producing content for Netflix under their company Higher Ground Productions. According to Netflix, the two will create "a diverse mix of content, including the potential of scripted series, unscripted series, docuseries, documentaries and features."
Rumors of a possible Obama-Netflix partnership have been circulating since March. In a prepared statement, President Obama says he and Michelle are partnering with Netflix to better share each other's experiences. "We hope to cultivate and heal talented, inspiring and creative voices that are able to promote greater empathy and understanding among people, and help them share their stories with everyone," he says.
