Snapchat’s redesigned redesign starts rolling out

Snapchat says that it is currently launching another redesign of its application for iOS users. Late last year, Snapchat launched a review that earned the ire of dedicated users who hated the new design. That led to 1.2 million people signing a petition in the hope that Snapchat would reverse the redesign to its original form. The company acknowledged that the "new Snapchat has felt uncomfortable for many" and now the company is giving in to some of those change requests.

Snap says that the new design places Snaps and Chats in chronological order again, and moves Stories from your friends back to the right side of the application. When you open the application, start the camera, so you can easily slide to the left to access the screen on the right, where you will find the content of your friends. Like the previous redesign, your friends' stories will remain independent of brand content. Snap has also added a separate Subscription feed so you can more easily search for stories from popular creators and publishers.

Earlier we reported that the redesign of Snapchat does not help you make money: for the first quarter, the application increased its global users, but it got less money per user. Today's update was announced for the first time by Snap CEO Evan Spiegel in the company's first quarter of earnings on May 1.

At that time, Spiegel said that the company was working on optimizing the redesign:

"We learned that combining seeing stories and communicating with friends in the same place made it difficult to optimize both competitive behaviors. to address this by classifying communication out of curiosity and transferring Friends 'Stories to the right side of the application, while maintaining the structural changes we have made to separate friends from creators and classify friends' stories by relationships.

Snap says the update is is currently extending to "the majority" of users on iOS. It is not yet known when the update will be available on Android.
