Windows 10 is getting a File Explorer dark mode and new cloud clipboard

Microsoft is testing a new Windows 10 build today (17666) that includes some new features that will be available later this year. The biggest addition is a new cloud-driven clipboard that will allow Windows 10 users to browse their clipboard contents on all devices, and presumably on Android and iOS devices. The cloud clipboard includes a history of what has been copied, and will be synchronized in the same way as Sets and Timeline, so you can copy from one PC and paste into another.

Next to the cloud clipboard, Microsoft also brings a dark theme to the File Explorer to match the rest of the Windows 10 dark user interface. The new version does not yet It has a full version of the dark theme, but Microsoft is seeing what it will look like in Windows 10. Microsoft even makes some minor changes to Notepad, allowing developers to use Unix / Linux line (LF) endings and Macintosh line (CR) in the application. You can also highlight words in Notepad and use a shortcut or a contextual menu item to search for the word in Bing.

Microsoft also makes some subtle changes to the fluid design in this latest Windows 10 trial. Now the sets have an acrylic title bar, and the Alt-Tab experience now includes recent Microsoft Edge tabs to change. You can disable this new Alt-Tab change in multitasking settings, and this subtle enhancement joins the new screen capture tool for Windows 10. The new build of Windows 10 17666 is available to Fast Insiders immediately, and the functions should be available for Windows 10 users later. this year.
