MTV's annual Movie & TV Awards will be broadcast in June and the network has just launched its final list of nominees in categories such as Best Hero, Best Villain, Most Scaled Performance and Best On-Screen Team.
Black Panther won the most nominations, with a total of seven in categories such as Best Picture and Best Hero. Stranger Things by Netflix earned six nominations, including Best Performance, Best Performance in a Show (Millie Bobby Brown) and Best Kiss (Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard). 2017 Has has a total of four nominations, while Black Mirror has only one: for the most frightened performance in "USS Callister." The awards are also so updated. Avengers: Infinity War that has just opened, is represented in several categories, including the Best Film.
Tiffany Haddish is the host of the show, and recent promotions with the actress do everything possible to make fun of narrower industry awards shows. "You do not want another generic guy in a tux to host a boring prize show," says Haddish. "You want the boss who strutted herself." Haddish, who wears work boots instead of the usual and controversial prizes, shows stiletto heels, and then rolls the red carpet. (By the way, she is also nominated this year, in the Scene Stealer category for her role as Dina in Girls Trip .)
This year, MTV is trying to attract viewers by pointing out ways in which the Ceremony is not like other awards shows. While historical awards show how the Oscars struggle for diversity issues, MTV continues to emphasize its gender neutral performance awards, which were implemented for the first time last year.
