What is the iPhone X?

iPhone X – Design

As a result, my iPhone X has spent much of its time in an Apple case, but this certainly makes it lose points in glamor.
However, it is in the front of the iPhone X where the magic happens. The iPhone 8 has a wide bezel that runs around the screen, but the iPhone X does not. Similar to Samsung Galaxy S9 Apple has moved the screen towards the edges, significantly reducing the bevel. A noticeable black border remains, but adds a good contrast to the bright screen.
The lack of a thick bezel means that there is no space for the Start button, a feature present in every iteration of the iPhone so far. As a result, there is no Touch ID fingerprint scanner. In contrast, the iPhone X sees Apple introduce facial recognition: a bold move.
All Face ID components (infrared camera, flood illuminator, dot projector) are found in what is affectionately called & # 39; notch & # 39 ;. You will find the notch at the top of the screen, where it somehow interrupts the full screen aspect. There has been a lot of controversy regarding the notch regarding completely ruining the immersion experience. However, once you start using the phone, I discovered that it simply mixes with the background. The notch has become common since the iPhone X came out and Android phones like the LG G7 and the Huawei P20 have brought the design trait.
Sure, you notice it when the screen is on, and it also matches the video if you're playing full screen. But in all other cases it vanishes in the background. Certain applications, Apple music is one, they use software tricks to erase the notch, and some applications need to be updated clearly to ensure important buttons are not hidden.

I feel that the notch gives the iPhone X a bit of character and a distinctive appearance, something lost by discarding the Start button. I'm sure Apple would get rid of him in a moment if he could get this technology into the bezel; but it seems as if the company would like to use it as a distinctive feature while it is here.
iPhone X – Face ID
I have used Samsung's facial unlocking and iris scanners a bit, and have never been particularly impressed by its speed or accuracy. Therefore, it was important that Apple's Face ID work every time.
Works accurately in both light and dark; he can not be deceived by images or masks; and it works if you wear glasses too. There have been reports that the twins have tricked him, and Apple told me that some sunnies with IR blocking will not work, but these are limited scenarios. iPhone X – Screen
The iPhone X sees Apple change its usual LCD screen technology to an OLED panel for the first time. Samsung, Google and many other Android phone makers have been using this technology for some time now, and it's nice to see Apple finally join the fray with a product other than the Apple Watch. This is also the highest resolution screen of an iPhone, with a little odd 2436 x 1125 pixels, plus compatibility with the DCI P3 color gamut and Dolby Vision HDR.
OLEDs offer better contrast, true blacks and a more colorful image, but they are not always perfect. The LG panels used by Google in the Pixel 2 XL have been the subject of much criticism for the poor viewing angles and a strange blue tint. Even the excellent displays on the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus are prone to poor viewing angles.
Apple OLEDs come from Samsung, and although there is a small change to blue if you tilt the device off the axis, it is much less noticeable than in the Pixel 2 XL. Apple says it has made some brief adjustments to this panel, and the company's optimization is certainly different from Samsung's approach to its own Galaxy S9 and Note 8 panels. The colors on the iPhone X are more natural and the saturation is not so intense
The iPhone X screen also benefits from True Tone, which alters the screen temperature depending on the environment is already. 3D Touch also comes back, allowing you to perform alternative actions by applying different levels of pressure on the screen.
Whether or not you are a fan of the iPhone X screen, it will be reduced to what features you value most on a screen. For me, this is the best screen on any phone I've seen. I downloaded some HDR-enabled movies from iTunes, something you can not do on Android, and they're awesome.
