Tile's Bluetooth trackers are designed for progressive brain spies who know in advance that they're going to lose track of all their valuables, and want to find them as simple as touching an icon in a smartphone app .
Now, Tile wants to make finding their keys even simpler by partnering with Comcast to support video notifications and voice commands through the cable provider's X1 voice remote control.
In a press release today, Comcast explained how customers can say commands like, "Xfinity Home locate Sam & # 39; s backpack" and have the closest location of the item, either inside or outside the house, it is displayed on the screen.
When your lost item is on your address within 100 feet of you, the tile trackers will emit beeps so you can find them. A smartphone with a mosaic tracker can be programmed to sound when its tracker is activated, even when in silent mode.
However, outside of its immediate proximity, Tile relies on "associations of access points", networks that Tile can connect to in his search for lost items. By partnering with Comcast, Tile has greatly expanded its Wi-Fi search radius by lost or stolen material.
"Tile is creating a world where everyone can find everything that matters," Tile CEO Mike Fahey said in a statement. "With Comcast … we are providing greater peace of mind to Xfinity customers in their home, providing them with an optimized experience so they can find their things quickly, no matter where they are."
Only Xfinity Home owners can use this functionality at the beginning. You can download the Xfinity Home application for iOS or Android to connect the Bluetooth of your Tiles to your TVs.
Later this year, Comcast says that all Xfinity Internet customers will have access to this functionality.
Doing everything traceable
Earlier this year on CES 2018 Tile first announced its partnership with Comcast (without any hint of video popups or voice commands) , along with the Rucks network and the San José International Airport, working to increase their access to data.
Undoubtedly, Tile wishes to expand that reach to other network providers and public areas in the future.
Beyond that, Tile disclosed its new partnership with Bose to insert its tracking technology into the latter's headphones, but through firmware updates instead of tracing it.
The Bose SoundSport Wireless and Bose Quiet Control 30 hearing aids can now be tracked through the Tile application (or the Xfinity platform), and other Bose products could be added in the future.
And some smaller companies are working with tile tracking technology in their products, including backpacks, luggage, inhalers and skateboards.
Eventually, with enough partnerships, Tile will make sure you do not need the foresight to apply Bluetooth technology in everything you can lose. They will be tracking virtually all the valuable things you have, just in case.
