The B & O Beoplay P6, with the aim of adding a touch of style to the increasingly narrow market of smart portable speakers, has arrived, clad in aluminum and capable of emitting 215W of audio.
If it looks familiar, it's because the Beoplay P6 manufacturers have tracked the B & O files and created something that has a touch of the Bang & Olufsen Beomaster 6000 amplifier design that was created by the designer Jacob Jenson to mid-seventies.
To update it, however, B & O Play has been given to the speakers by a OneTouch button to allow the integration of intelligent functions. You can also access Siri or the Google Assistant on your phone through the loudspeaker and accept calls.
16-hour playback
Playback time is no less than 16 hours and the 215W audio is composed of a Class D 36W subwoofer and two full-tone Class D 30W speakers for a total of 215W of maximum power.
Those worried about getting a piece of metal out on a rainy day do not need to worry, because the speaker is resistant to splashes and dust. Even so, it is almost certain that it is a loudspeaker that you will want to carry between the different rooms of your house, instead of from an outside space.
It has been given some soft touches to counteract its metallic appearance, including a leather strap to hold the object and soft touch buttons. Anyone who has seen, or played, the Beoplay A1 will feel at home with the style.
The release date of B & O Beoplay P6 is April 23, comes in black and 'natural', and will cost £ 350 (USD $ 399, AUD $ 599).
