It seems that Oculus really wants players to check out Echo Arena in Oculus Rift, and as a bit of encouragement, a "Rift Gold Rush" event is running this weekend. The event will give players the chance to win a prize amount of $ 28,000.
The event will take place on Saturday, April 14, from 1 to 2 pm Pacific Time / 4 to 5 pm Eastern Time, and players who join the public parties of Echo Arena during that time will be registered for win prizes
The prize pool includes new PCs, Oculus Store credits and an Oculus Golden Account with access to 100 major titles.
Winning prizes is great, but what makes this event even better is that Echo Arena is not only a free virtual reality game, but it is also one of the best Oculus Rift games out there. Oculus owners should not need encouragement to pick up and play Echo Arena, but Oculus is encouraging it anyway.
This is not the first Rift Gold Rush event, since Oculus started them as part of their second anniversary. The RTS Brass Tactics game was highlighted for a previous Gold Rush event. The new Sprint Vector racing game, another of our best virtual reality games, was the game for the second Rift Gold Rush.
This time Oculus will draw attention to Echo Arena, perhaps hoping to build a larger player base. putting it on the radar like other ultra-popular sports-type video games, like Rocket League.
